AirTran Airways Celebrates 40 Years of Southwest Airlines' Service by "Sharing the LUV" With Customers
AirTran Launches Seventy-Two Hour, Mileage-Based Fare Sale to Commemorate Southwest's 40th Anniversary
ORLANDO, Fla., June 21, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- AirTran Airways, a wholly owned subsidiary of Southwest Airlines, Co. (NYSE: LUV), today launched a 72-hour fare sale to celebrate Southwest Airlines' 40th Anniversary. Travelers may purchase these sale fares at www.airtran.com, from their local travel agent or via AirTran Airways' reservations system at 1-800-AIR-TRAN. For Spanish, call 1-877-581-9842.

As a part of this effort to spread low fares farther through the integration of the two airlines, Southwest Airlines also launched a parallel fare sale. Southwest's fares along with terms and conditions can be found at www.southwest.com.
One-way fares of $40, $80 and $120 (based on length of travel) are available for purchase from June 21, 2011, through June 23, 2011, and are good for travel August 23, 2011, through November 16, 2011. For travel up to 450 miles, fares are $40 one-way. For travel between 451 and 1250 miles, fares are $80 one-way. For travel more than 1251 miles, fares are $120 one-way.
Sales fares, applicable to select destinations, are valid every day except Fridays and Sundays. Like all AirTran Airways fares, prices included in this sale are available for one-way travel and do not require a roundtrip purchase or an overnight stay.

*All fares are one-way. Fares shown do not include Airport Passenger Facility Charges of up to $18 round-trip. The September 11th security fee of up to $10 round-trip is not included. Fares do not include segment taxes of $3.70 per segment. A segment is defined as a takeoff and a landing.
