AirTran Airways and the Transportation Workers Union Announce Successful Ratification of Collective Bargaining Agreement
-Flight Dispatchers Agree to Four-Year Contract-
ORLANDO, Fla., Feb. 9 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- AirTran Airways, a subsidiary of AirTran Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: AAI), and the Transportation Workers Union (TWU), today announced the successful membership ratification by an overwhelming margin of a new 48-month collective bargaining agreement.
"Our dispatchers, who are at the focal point of our System Operations Control Center, and who make real time decisions with respect to the operations of over 750 flights each day, are excellent examples of the 8,500 professionals that make up the AirTran family," said Bob Fornaro, AirTran Airways chairman, president and chief executive officer. The agreement covers AirTran Airways flight dispatchers that work at the Company's System Operations Control Center in Orlando.
