MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Oct. 22, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- AirTight Networks, global leader in cloud managed Wi-Fi, today announced the addition of industry veteran Tushar Saxena as vice president of partner solutions, with a focus on the service provider market. In this pivotal market for AirTight, Saxena will play a crucial role in furthering the business strategy and operations for the company's approach to carriers, cable operators and ISPs.
Prior to joining AirTight, Saxena held numerous leadership roles at Verizon spanning over a decade. He played a key role in the development and rollout of FiOS, Verizon's fiber-optic network, as it grew to 6 million subscribers over nine years. Saxena was most recently the company's director of broadband product development. He has built and led teams responsible for the development of new carrier solutions ranging from the connected home to internet security, Wi-Fi solutions and hotspot strategy. As part of his responsibilities, he oversaw the expansion of the FiOS TV network to support over 600,000 new subscribers per year. Prior to Verizon, Saxena has also held senior roles at BBN Technologies and GE.
"Service providers are a strong growth area for us, so we need an experienced professional to meet the very distinct needs of this audience," said David King, chairman and CEO of AirTight Networks. "Tushar Saxena has a proven track record of building and launching carrier-grade products, making him particularly qualified for the job."
"AirTight Networks is a dynamic company on the leading edge of Wi-Fi analytics, monetization and security, providing reliable, innovative solutions to marquee enterprises and government agencies," said Tushar Saxena, vice president of partner solutions for AirTight Networks. "With a carrier-ready Wi-Fi solution and a world-class engineering team, AirTight is well positioned to partner with operators as they incorporate Wi-Fi into their mobility and broadband portfolio – something I look forward to being part of."
King added: "Tushar's focus over the last decade has been on partnering with new, nimble vendors to accelerate key strategic initiatives at a large carrier. His knowledge of Wi-Fi business models and deep understanding of service providers' needs, sourcing methodologies and technology adoption cycles will be indispensable to AirTight Networks."
