Driver Experience Solution and Choreo Service Delivery Platform To Power New Alpine Connect Infotainment Service for Alpine Restyle Aftermarket Systems
SEATTLE, Jan. 6, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Airbiquity®, a global leader in connected car service delivery, today announced the launch of its latest Driver Experience infotainment delivery customer program and Choreo™ platform deployment for Alpine Electronics: Alpine Connect. Airbiquity will support five Alpine Restyle aftermarket dash systems; the 10-inch Restyle dash systems (X110-SLV for 2014-up Chevrolet Silverado, X110-SRA for 2014-up GMC Sierra), 9-inch Restyle dash system (X109-WRA for 2011-up Jeep Wrangler), 8-inch Restyle dash system (X108U for select trucks and SUVs) and the 7-inch universal dash system (INE-W967HD). In addition to proprietary smartphone integration technology and Choreo cloud-based connected car service delivery, Airbiquity will provide popular infotainment content leveraging its extensive portfolio of applications and customized Alpine Connect smartphone apps for Android and Apple allowing aftermarket customers to manage their Alpine system infotainment preferences and enjoy personalized content.
"Airbiquity is thrilled to work with Alpine on Alpine Connect and further enhance and differentiate the Restyle product line," said David Jumpa, Chief Revenue Officer, Airbiquity. "Alpine's dedication to innovative products and market-leading user experiences is a perfect fit for Airbiquity. We value our relationship and look forward to helping Alpine enhance the driving experience of their aftermarket customers."
Looking for a streamlined and economical deployment option to bring Alpine Connect infotainment services into the aftermarket channel, Alpine chose Airbiquity's template-style deployment approach that applies a common pre-defined user interface/user experience (UI/UX) design across multiple content provider applications and infotainment system electronics. Leveraging template technology enabled Airbiquity to meet Alpine's requirements while providing superior program management capabilities. With access to Airbiquity's deep infotainment content portfolio, and Choreo platform back-end, Alpine will efficiently deploy new content, configure content behavior policies to mitigate driver distractions and manage the program end-to-end. Airbiquity's smartphone integration technology and Choreo platform services also provide Alpine with a roadmap to expand Alpine Connect beyond infotainment with vehicle centric services further enhancing the driving and ownership experience of Alpine aftermarket system customers.
"The Airbiquity connected car service powering the Alpine Connect app will be a strategic addition to our top of the line Restyle dash systems," said Steve Crawford, vice president and general manager, Aftermarket Business Unit, Alpine Electronics of America, Inc. "Users will get to access the Alpine Connect content through a consistent and familiar Alpine user interface, without having to learn new controls or commands for their dash system."
Alpine Connect systems supported by Airbiquity enter the North American retail channel in April 2016 with leading content provider applications from Spotify®, Yelp®, iHeartRadio and Glympse®, with more applications to be added later. As part of Airbiquity's infotainment content integration process relevant application features will take full advantage of Alpine's proprietary navigation and user interfaces to enhance driver safety, deliver cutting-edge user experiences and contribute to Alpine's goal of providing tools aftermarket customers depend on to improve their rides.
Airbiquity has integrated more than 45 infotainment apps and 12 vehicle head units into its Choreo connected car service delivery platform for multiple automotive programs around the world, including translation into more than 30 languages. More than 7 million vehicles have been deployed on the Choreo platform to date which currently powers hundreds of millions of monthly transactions for a wide range of connected car services such as vehicle connectivity, safety and security, infotainment delivery, electric vehicle, and fleet management.
