Airbiquity Broadens Choreo Connected Car Content Portfolio With Applications From Reuters And Yelp
Content Partnerships to Provide Connected Car Drivers Real-Time Access to News from Around the World and Online Local Guides
SEATTLE, Sept. 11, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Airbiquity®, a global leader in connected car services delivery, today announced it has added two additional premium content providers, Reuters and Yelp®, to its Choreo™ cloud-based connected car services delivery platform. With these integrations, both Reuters, the world's largest multimedia news provider, and Yelp, the company that connects consumers with local businesses, will be made available to the company's automotive manufacturer customers deploying the Driver Experience infotainment delivery offering. Leveraging the Airbiquity content portfolio, automotive manufacturers can introduce Reuters and Yelp content into their branded connected car programs meeting the infotainment needs of their drivers while helping to differentiate their in-vehicle experience from competitors.
As with other applications which have recently been integrated into the Choreo platform, both the Reuters and Yelp apps will feature tight integration between the application services of the content providers and prevailing smartphone technologies, including support for wireless Bluetooth hands-free calling and native vehicle navigation system integration. This level of integration serves to minimize driver distractions as manual text search is disabled in favor of voice search if the system senses the vehicle is in motion.
Airbiquity's Choreo connected car services delivery platform serves over 5 million vehicles around the world and supports hundreds of millions of vehicle transactions per month for leading automotive OEMs. Driver Experience, Airbiquity's latest product offering, was announced in 2013 and began providing infotainment delivery for Nissan North American Altima and Rogue models. Since then Airbiquity's Nissan deployment has gone global and now encompasses nine models: Altima, Frontier, Juke, March, Rogue, Sentra, Serena, Versa, and Xterra. The company offers a broad range of premium content partners across the most in-demand connected vehicle infotainment categories such as Google Send-to-Car search; TripAdvisor reviews; iHeartRadio, Pandora, and TuneIn streaming music; Facebook and Twitter social media; and many more.
"Both Reuters and Yelp are recognized as best-in-class within their respective content categories. With these new additions, Airbiquity enhances our ability to offer automotive manufacturers the deepest selection of content from industry leaders in multiple categories," said David Jumpa, Chief Revenue Officer at Airbiquity. "Airbiquity will continue to forge partnerships with content providers around the world with the goal of creating the most timely and relevant infotainment content options for our customers."
