Air Products' PRISM® Onsite Gas Generation Systems Selected by Camden County Municipal Utilities Authority, New Jersey for Wastewater Treatment
LEHIGH VALLEY, Pa., Oct. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Air Products (NYSE: APD), in conjunction with C&T Associates, Inc., will install two onsite gas generation systems at the Camden County Municipal Utilities Authority (CCMUA) in New Jersey for use in its wastewater treatment process. Air Products' proprietary PRISM Oxygen VSA and Nitrogen PSA Systems will replace existing technology at the Camden facility, providing CCMUA with improved energy efficiency, lower maintenance and an even more reliable gas supply. In addition to the sale of equipment, Air Products also has signed a contract with CCMUA for the supply of liquid oxygen, as well as retrofitting existing wastewater aeration basin equipment.
"We're pleased to continue our nearly 20-year relationship with Camden County by providing our highly efficient onsite gas generation technology to support their wastewater treatment process," said Greg Malcolm, business manager for Industrial/Engineered Systems at Air Products. "This is yet another example of how Air Products' technical knowledge and industry experience can help municipalities -- as well as industrial customers -- implement sustainable, cost-effective solutions that keep their plants operating at peak performance."
"We initially sought to retrofit our existing equipment," says Andrew Kricun, chief engineer at CCMUA. "But after evaluating our operation and understanding our needs, Air Products -- together with Greeley and Hansen, our design engineer -- was able to provide us with an even better solution that not only is lower in capital costs, but will enable us to significantly reduce our power consumption, which is both environmentally responsible and cost-effective."
