Air Force Memorial Launches New Website
ARLINGTON, Va., March 26, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Air Force Association proudly announces the launch of the new Air Force Memorial website: www.airforcememorial.org. The website has undergone a total redesign to better provide people with information about visiting the memorial, hosting an event, accessing its heritage archives, leaving a tribute for a friend or a family member, and much more.
We encourage local residents and tourists to utilize the new website when planning your next visit to the Washington D.C. area. The memorial was dedicated in 2006 and since its opening more than 1.3 million have come to pay reverence to the more than 54,000 Airmen who have died in combat while serving in the Air Force and its predecessor organizations.

The Memorial is free and open to the public every day of the year except Christmas Day. The United States Air Force Memorial, staffed and supported by the Air Force Association (AFA), honors the service and sacrifices of the men and women of the United States Air Force and its predecessor organizations, including the Aeronautical Division, U.S. Signal Corps; the Aviation Section, U.S. Signal Corps; the Division of Military Aeronautics, Secretary of War; the Army Air Service; the U.S. Army Air Corps; and the U.S. Army Air Forces. More than 54,000 Airmen have died in combat while serving in the Air Force and these historical service arms of the military.
The Air Force Memorial Foundation was established by AFA as a tax-exempt, charitable, historical, and educational organization in 1992. The Foundation, and its controlling entity the Air Force Association, have been granted 501(c)(3) status by the Internal Revenue Service, thus making contributions tax deductible. All contributions to the Air Force Memorial Foundation are acknowledged, unless given anonymously and contributions may be given in Honor of, or in Memory of, someone special.
