AICPA and Accountemps to Provide Five Student Scholarships; April 1 Deadline for Applications
MENLO PARK, Calif., March 17 /PRNewswire/ -- The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the premier professional association for CPAs in the United States, and Accountemps, the world's first and largest temporary staffing service for accounting, finance and bookkeeping professionals, are accepting applications for the 2010-2011 AICPA/Accountemps Student Scholarship. Five individuals will receive $2,500 each for tuition expenses.
Applications may be obtained by visiting www.aicpa.org/aec or www.accountemps.com/AICPA. The deadline for receipt of all materials, including official school transcripts, an essay discussing academic and professional goals, and two letters of recommendation, is April 1, 2010, postmarked.
Applicants must be AICPA student affiliate members who are majoring in accounting, finance or information systems and are enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or master's level program. Applicants need to have completed the equivalent of at least 30 semester hours of college coursework, including a minimum of six semester hours in accounting, and maintained a 3.0 major and overall grade point average.
A committee comprised of Accountemps and AICPA representatives will select the scholarship recipients based on outstanding academic achievement, leadership, and future career interests in accounting and business and notify them by August 1, 2010.
