AIC, a Leader in Storage and Server Hardware, Demonstrates Suitability of Its Products for Broadcasting and Media Organizations
LOS ANGELES, April 7, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- With the advent of HD and streaming media, broadcasters are demanding more of their supporting technologies than ever before. Recently, the company revealed a prototype hardware solution to demonstrate how its technology is effortlessly scalable and breathtakingly efficient.

AIC's demo hardware is loaded with Apace software, which streamlines the management of all media assets. When media is ingested, the software automatically processes (edits) the data and creates media proxies for viewing and manipulation within the Apace web interface. Team members can edit and add effects from any web browser on any platform, including mobile. Media assets can quickly and easily be distributed for review to all relevant users within an organization.
"Our innovative server storage enclosures are ideal for broadcast applications," explained AIC VP of Engineering, CT Sun. "Thanks to Apace software, large media organizations can centralize the work of managing, editing, playing and archiving content. Our solutions provide the density and availability necessary to meet the intense demands of 21st century media and entertainment industries."
The release of AIC's demo for the broadcasting industry would not have been possible without the participation of other technology vendors, including Adaptec, ATTO, Dataram, Intel, Kingston, LSI, Micron, Smart Modular, Toshiba, Transcend and Western Digital.
The inclusion of High Availability technology provided by LSI® Syncro® solutions highlights the demo. The LSI Syncro technology enables shared DAS storage of a single connected AIC JBOD while also providing failover for the two AIC servers.
"As storage requirements remain critical to business, LSI Syncro technology delivers a sharable DAS solution that offers storage flexibility while preventing costly downtime," said Jas Tremblay, vice president of marketing, LSI Datacenter Solutions Group. "The AIC demonstration highlights these key market requirements and provides a high-availabilty DAS-based system that is also easy to deploy and manage."
"For over 25 years, ATTO has reaffirmed their commitment to the high-performance market by supporting next generation technology. Working with AIC to leverage innovations for the 12Gb SAS ecosystem is further proof of our commitment to deliver innovative storage and network connectivity solutions that solve the toughest challenges facing organizations both today and in the future," said Wayne Arvidson, VP of Marketing and Channel at ATTO.
AIC's goals moving forward include further penetration into the media and entertainment market, where versatile, cost-effective storage and server solutions will always be in demand.
