Technology adoption is vital, enabling growers to improve their irrigation efficiency, and drive potential savings in water and energy consumption. The workshop will include presentations by professional staff and researchers with the Center for Irrigation Technology (CIT) and the Chief Agronomist, David Jamison, with PureSense. On-going field testing programs being conducted by CIT researchers will be the focus of demonstrating the use of real-time soil moisture monitoring technology provided by PureSense to assist almond growers in optimizing their irrigation operations. Workshop participants will not only learn more about the use and benefits of the technology, but will be able to see first-hand the technology at work in the field.
"We're thrilled to have this opportunity to share information with California's growers about our technology and the demonstration efforts underway to validate the benefits growers can expect to receive when adopting real-time soil moisture technology," says Dr. Michelle Frey, Senior VP of Engineering with PureSense. "We're committed to the education of growers about the practices and technologies that will help them maximize their revenue while optimizing their use of energy and water resources."
The workshop will be held on Tuesday, July 23rd, from 9 am to noon at the main offices of the Center for Irrigation Technology AgWaterEnergy Center on Fresno State's campus, located at 5370 N.
