EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn., Oct. 17, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- For the second consecutive year, Agropur will host the world's premier whey protein event. After a wildly successful inaugural 2015 seminar in Jerome, Idaho the Alpha Summit will move to Asia for 2016. The event, a learning and discussion session centered on the countless benefits of bovine alpha-lactalbumin whey protein, begins in Shanghai on Oct. 18 at the Shanghai City Center Marriot Hotel from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. A second session will take place in Singapore on Oct. 20.
The Alpha Summit's Shanghai event will bring together food industry leaders from around the world. Alpha-lactalbumin is the primary protein in human milk and Agropur produces the cleanest commercially available form at more than 92 percent purity. The protein is valuable for infant nutrition and the level of purity Agropur achieves allows infant formula manufacturers to produce products that more closely resemble human breast milk.
"Agropur's whey protein processes and products are unparalleled in the dairy industry," said Jon Davis, executive vice president of Agropur Ingredients. "The Alpha Summit is the perfect way for food industry leaders to get educated on the alpha-lactalbumin's unique capabilities."
As the worldwide leader in whey protein isolation, Agropur is pleased to bring nearly a dozen distinguished professors and food scientists to the Alpha Summit to present to the crowd. Each speaker will explore a particular aspect of alpha-lactalbumin, such as its high tryptophan content which is ideal for naturally aiding sleep, and explain the whey protein's scientific benefits.
"We're incredibly excited to host the Alpha Summit in Shanghai," said Polly Olson, vice president of sales, marketing and new business development for Agropur Ingredients. "Agropur's alpha-lactalbumin plays an integral role in China's infant formula industry and we can't wait to highlight our product's impressive characteristics."
This exclusive, invite-only event is closed to the public.
