Agile Alliance Announces 2013-2014 Board Of Directors
Industry experts will guide the leading organization for independent knowledge and community events for Agile software development
PORTLAND, Ore., Aug. 21, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Agile Alliance, (http://agilealliance.org/), a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the advancement of Agile software development principles and practices, today announced its board of directors for 2013-2014. Juan Banda (Bolivia) joins as a new board member, while Rebecca Parsons (USA), Shane Hastie (New Zealand), Ola Ellnestam (Sweden) and Jim Newkirk (USA) were re-elected to the Alliance board. The board was elected by Agile Alliance membership at the recent Agile2013 conference in Nashville, Tenn., where more than 1,750 Agilists from more than 40 countries gathered to share experiences, learn and advance Agile software development practices.
The new and re-elected executive members join returning Agile Alliance board members: Linda M. Cook (USA), Samuel Crescencio (Brazil), Paul Culling (Canada), Pat Reed (USA), Declan Whelan (Canada) and managing director Phil Brock (USA).

Juan Banda has more than 12 years of information technology and Agile software development experience. A native and resident of Bolivia, he is recognized for his Agile leadership as a professor, practitioner, coach, speaker and writer. Throughout his career Banda has applied Agile principles to help organizations develop quality software faster. Most recently he served as an Agile coach for Innovision and Infoarch, both of Santa Cruz, Bolivia. Prior, he served as Chair and Professor, Computer Science, Electrical and Industrial Engineering Department, Universidad del Valle, La Paz, Bolivia. Banda chaired the Scrum Bolivia Day conference in 2012, and speaks at dozens of industry conferences, including Agiles 2012 in Argentina, Scrum Gathering Buenos Aires 2012, Scrum Gathering Las Vegas and Agile2013 in Nashville. He holds a Master's degree in Management Information Systems from The University of Illinois at Chicago.
