ORLANDO, Fla., Aug. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- (Agile 2010) The Agile Alliance, (www.agilealliance.org) a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the advancement of Agile software development principles and practices, today kicked off its ninth annual conference Aug. 9-13 in Orlando. This year's event drew more than 1,400 participants from around the globe as the growing Agile community comes together to learn and share ideas around experiences and best-practices.
"We are thrilled to see such enthusiasm and interest at this year's conference," said James Newkirk, Agile 2010 conference chair. "From beginners to development experts, Agile 2010 offers attendees useful tips, knowledge and best practices that they can put into immediate practice within their software development organizations."
More than 200 technical sessions and keynote presentations highlight this year's conference which takes place at the Walt Disney World Dolphin Resort. Highlights include keynotes by Dave Thomas and Mike Cohn, first day of invited industry luminaries and a wide range of sessions to meet the varying needs of Agile practitioners.
Newkirk says a key reason behind the sell-out success of Agile 2010 is that the conference connects attendees with the foremost leaders in the Agile domain, enriching the collective body of knowledge and influencing the line of thought in the field. It encourages debate and fosters innovative ideas based on real-world implementations for executives, managers, software development practitioners and researchers from labs and academia.
"We heard attendees' feedback from last year regarding how we could continue to improve the annual Agile conference and make it more useful to them," Newkirk explained.
