Aggregate Industries US Facilities Take Home Gold, Silver and Bronze Awards for Environmental Excellence and Community Relations
BEDFORD, Mass., March 17, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Aggregate Industries US, a Holcim Group Company, is pleased to announce that five of their facilities received awards from the National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA). Two facilities were granted Environmental Excellence Awards and three facilities were granted Community Relations Awards.

Aggregate Industries US Swampscott Quarry, located in Swampscott, Massachusetts, received the gold environmental excellence award for exemplary use of environmental controls and exceeding requirements in the regulatory, technical and environmental categories. The Aggregate Industries US Algonquin plant, located in Algonquin, Ill., also received a silver award in the same category.
Aggregate Industries US River System, located in Minneapolis, Minnesota, received a Silver community relations award for being responsible corporate citizens, good neighbors and an asset to their community. This is the second year that the River System has been recognized by the NSSGA. Additionally, Accokeek Sand and Gravel, located in Brandywine, Maryland and Sloan Quarry located in Las Vegas, Nevada, both received bronze awards in this category respectively. This is also the third recognition by the NSSGA for Accokeek Sand and Gravel and the second for the Sloan Quarry.
