Aggregate Industries' Midwest Facilities Receive NRMCA 2011 Safety Award
DES PLAINES, Ill., Nov. 14, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Aggregate Industries US (AIUS) (www.aggregate-us.com), a member of the Holcim Group (www.holcim.com), announced today that six of its facilities located in the Midwest Region of the US have been recognized as recipients of the National Ready Mix Concrete Association's (NRMCA) 2011 Safety Award.
The Safety Contest is a safety performance and incentive/award program aimed at fostering safe practices at ready mixed concrete plants across the nation. All facilities operated by NRMCA member companies are eligible to participate.

The facilities receiving gold level awards are: Algonquin RMX - Algonquin, Illinois; Angola RMX Plant - Angola, Indiana; Goshen RMX Plant - Goshen, Indiana; Portable RMX - Oak Creek, Wisconsin; McHenry RMX - McHenry, Illinois. The West Allis RMX facility located in West Allis, Wisconsin received a bronze level award.
The 2011 NRMCA Safety Contest received 879 individual plant entries. All entries included safety records from calendar year 2010. NRMCA has estimated that there are currently 6000 - 7000 plants in the United States. The largest category for plants was Gold with 570 Excellence in Safety awards. The Silver category had 10 Excellence in Safety awards. The Bronze category had 23 awards.
