STUTTGART, Germany, Aug. 6, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Mobile enterprise software developer M-Way Solutions continues to expand its footprint in the global, connected vehicle business by opening a technology center in Ulm specializing in the development of in-vehicle mobility applications and human-machine interfaces.

Staffed by a newly hired team of developers with extensive experience in automotive infotainment systems, the expansion reflects M-Way's growing collaboration with Agero Connected Services, a U.S.-based system integrator and provider of cloud-delivered content for several global vehicle manufacturers. Agero also is a part-owner in M-Way Solutions.
"Our expansion reflects our deep commitment to keeping M-Way at the forefront of innovation in vehicle and mobile connectivity, including solutions customized for vehicle manufacturers and driver interfaces personalized by brand, car model, and vehicle owner," said Volker Hahn, CEO of M-Way Solutions.
Hahn said Ulm was chosen as the location for the new unit because of its proximity to Europe's major automobile manufacturers as well its success in attracting leading-edge software development firms.
"Establishing a tech center in Ulm enhances and accelerates our ability to meet the rapidly growing demand and the unique challenges in content and driver interface development that vehicle connectivity brings to the global automotive sector," said Hahn.
Hahn foresees further growth not only for the new tech center in Ulm, but also for the company's headquarters in Stuttgart and its branch office in Kosice, Slovakia.
M-Way Solutions, with years of experience developing cloud-based mobility and telematics solutions for the automotive industry, partnered with Agero a year ago in the development of the AgeroView platform. AgeroView is designed to provide a common platform across the multiple automotive brands that Agero serves for delivering in-vehicle infotainment and interfaces that can be changed over the lifetime of the vehicle. Such flexibility enables Agero to ensure automakers' connected vehicle programs are always synchronized with the changing driver, brand, and manufacturer needs as well as evolving regulatory guidelines reflecting the latest advances in research findings and technology for mitigating the risk of driver distraction.
"M-Way's expansion reinforces the value of our partnership to accelerate development of streamlined solutions enabling OEMs to overcome the problems created by rapidly evolving content and connectivity alternatives," said Michael Becker, vice president, Business Development, for Agero in Europe. "The work done in Ulm will further separate the automotive software cycle from the hardware cycle and allow the OEMs' service offerings to remain fresh throughout the vehicle's multiple ownership cycles."
