AFS Logistics' New CEO Makes Swift Changes And Announces New Leadership
SHREVEPORT, La., Jan. 30, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- After recently naming a new CEO, AFS Logistics continues to make leadership changes aligned with the company's vision of providing transportation management services and solutions combined with integrated technology and analytics products.
On June 1, 2017, AFS welcomed David Proctor as their new CEO. Mr. Proctor brings deep knowledge and broad experience in logistics, transport and supply chain. He previously served in President and CEO roles in logistics, transport, rail and aftermarket services at three Fortune 100 organizations. Mr. Proctor also served as Operating Partner and Adviser at two private equity firms and as CEO for a logistics services business in the private equity portfolio. Prior, he was a Principal at Accenture and began his career at Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway.
Brian J. Barker, AFS Founder, will remain actively involved with the company as Chairman of the Board. "David will take AFS to the next level," said Barker. "His industry and leadership experience in building new businesses and reengineering business operations makes him the right person to lead AFS to the next stage of growth."
Under Mr. Proctor's direction and leadership, AFS plans to expand its current Truckload and International offerings, introduce Managed Transportation Services and launch new Intermodal and Supply Chain Solutions businesses. In addition, AFS will introduce LTL SMB, a reseller program for small volume shippers, and returns management while continuing to offer their core services in Less-than-Truckload (LTL), Parcel/Small Package, Freight Audit and Payment, and Cost/Spend Management Solutions.
Best-in-class technology is critical to AFS' delivery of integrated transportation and logistics solutions. In support of that initiative, in December 2017 AFS welcomed Warren Patterson as the new CIO. Mr. Patterson brings more than 30 years of logistics, transport and supply chain technology success. Before joining AFS he served as CIO for M33 (recently acquired by Transplace), CIO and Sr. VP of Product Strategy and Development for SMC3, Co-Founder and CEO of Mercurygate and Manager of Freight Execution Solutions for IBM.
Mr. Proctor and Mr. Patterson join Ben Townsend who joined the organization in January of 2017 as CFO. Mr. Townsend has served as CFO for the Norris Division of Dover Corporation, a manufacturer of oilfield production equipment, Airflo Cooling Technologies and Trend Corporation.
AFS will soon name a new operations executive to lead the reengineering of Managed Transportation Services and other critical Core businesses.
