Ranked No. 1 in Insurance Life and Health Category for Innovation
COLUMBUS, Ga., Feb. 19, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Aflac, the leader of voluntary insurance sales at the work site in the United States, announced today its recognition by FORTUNE magazine as a World's Most Admired Company, ranking the company No. 1 in innovation for the insurance, life and health category. This marks Aflac's 15th appearance on this prestigious list and the second consecutive year that the company has led its category for innovation.
The recognition comes as a result of an annual survey, conducted by FORTUNE and Korn Ferry Hay Group, a global management consulting firm. The survey is provided to top executives and directors at companies from across the world, along with financial analysts, to identify the companies that enjoy the strongest reputations within their industries and across industries.
"It is an honor to be named a FORTUNE World's Most Admired Company for the 15th time and to receive confirmation of Aflac's reputable service to our customers and shareholders," Aflac Chairman and CEO Dan Amos said. "We believe that our reputation for innovative customer service, best illustrated by our groundbreaking One Day PaySM initiative introduced in 2015, sets a tone for our company that helps people view our brand with admiration. We are grateful for the honor bestowed upon Aflac by FORTUNE magazine."
With One Day PaySM, when an eligible claim is submitted via SmartClaim by 3 p.m. ET, Monday through Friday, with all supporting documentation, Aflac processes, approves and disburses payment for the claim within one business day.
According to FORTUNE, the World's Most Admired Companies list is the definitive report card on corporate reputations. To compile the rankings, corporate reputation and performance are measured against nine key attributes: innovation, people management, use of corporate assets, social responsibility, quality of management, financial soundness, long-term investment, quality of products and services, and global competitiveness.
A complete listing of the World's Most Admired Companies and the methodology for the survey can be found at FORTUNE.com. The list also will appear in FORTUNE magazine's March print edition, which hits newsstands on Feb. 22, 2016.
