COLUMBUS, Ga., Aug. 23 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Aflac, the company that pays cash benefits to policyholders fast when they are sick or hurt, has been named one of the 50 Best Companies for Latinas to Work For in the United States for 2010, according to LATINA Style magazine. It is the eleventh time that Aflac has landed a coveted spot on the list of top 50 companies, developed through an annual survey of more than 800 corporations. The list serves as a respected source of employment and career information for Hispanic women in the United States.
"Appearing on the LATINA Style 50 Best Companies list for the eleventh time illustrates Aflac's commitment to diversity, and in particular, our support for the growing Hispanic community," Aflac Chairman and CEO Dan Amos said. "This is a tremendous honor shared by the entire Aflac family."
In 2010, Aflac launched a renewed effort to promote the company within the Hispanic community, including the creation of a new aflacenespanol.com Web site tailored specifically to Hispanics in a culturally sensitive way. Aflac is also actively recruiting Hispanic and bilingual field agents to better enable customers and accounts to work with Aflac in the language they feel most comfortable speaking and reading.
LATINA Style will honor Aflac and other members of the 50 Best Companies list for their extraordinary achievements in diversity during the LATINA Style Diversity Leaders Conference and Awards Ceremony held in Washington, D.C., on February 3, 2011. The report will be distributed to Hispanic professional and civic organizations, national women's organizations, over 2,000 colleges and universities, all members of Congress, the White House, and members of the Cabinet, as well as at major Hispanic and recruitment conferences.
