NEWARK, N.J., July 1, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Aflac, the No. 1 provider of voluntary and guaranteed-renewable insurance in the United States, introduced a new Cancer Care insurance plan in the state of New Jersey. If unprepared, a cancer diagnosis may trigger financial distress for employees and their families. The new Cancer Care policy offers four plan options to best fit employees' personal and financial needs. These plans pay cash benefits to policyholders diagnosed with cancer, including some blood disorders and melanoma.
"Fighting cancer is an emotionally difficult experience and one that already carries tremendous stress and anxiety along with it," said John Harmeling, senior vice president of Worksite Marketing at Aflac. "Unfortunately, the stress is often exacerbated by the financial burden of this costly disease. Our Cancer Care policies are designed to help alleviate the financial stress associated with a cancer diagnosis and treatment, so that patients can focus fully on their recovery."
Aflac's Cancer Care base plan helps policyholders who may undergo radiation therapy, experimental treatment, bone marrow transplants, and more. The Cancer Care plans are designed to help with out-of-pocket expenses that typically are not covered by major medical insurance.
