COLUMBUS, Ga., Oct. 29, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Aflac Incorporated announced today that it has priced $550 million principal amount of fixed-rate, senior notes due 2049 (the "2049 senior notes") with a coupon of 4.750%. The 2049 senior notes will be issued at a price of 99.340% with a re-offer yield of 4.792%.
The company intends to use the net proceeds from this offering to fund all or a portion of the redemption price of its 2.400% Senior Notes due 2020 (the "2020 senior notes"), of which $550,000,000 principal amount are outstanding. The company intends to use proceeds in excess of such redemption price, if any, for general corporate purposes.
