COLUMBUS, Ga., Dec. 30, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Aflac, the No. 1 provider of supplemental insurance in the U.S. will release its latest television commercial starring the endearing Aflac Duck tomorrow afternoon. The ad, called Family Business showcases an actor familiar to movie-goers everywhere; who along with the Aflac Duck, uses humor to show how Aflac insurance policies can help provide the financial protection that every family needs.
In Family Business, the Aflac Duck encounters a different kind of "family man" in Hollywood tough-guy Frank Vincent. Frank and his physically imposing colleague, six foot-eight inch former NFL star turned actor Matt Willig, take a particularly strong interest in Aflac's policies that provide the kind of protection policyholders in any line of work need against the financial challenges that often occur when an unexpected accident takes place.
In the tongue-in-cheek ad, Mr. Vincent, the gravel-voiced veteran of Goodfellas and The Sopranos, representing ominous business interests, meets up with the unsuspecting and somewhat nervous Aflac Duck to discuss the Duck's uncanny ability to send cash to Vincent's "business associate" who is incapacitated due to an "unfortunate accident". Realizing that he needs to protect his own finances from unexpected mishaps, Vincent's character asks how he can get his share of benefits if he was to experience a similar "misfortune".
"In a fun, light-hearted way Family Business shows how Aflac offers policies that no one should ever refuse," Aflac Executive Vice President, Chief Marketing Officer Michael Zuna said. "Viewers will laugh as they connect with a strong message about how employers who offer Aflac at the workplace are helping their family of workers protect themselves from the financial effects of an unexpected accident or illness."
Family Business will debut during the college football Sun Bowl game tomorrow afternoon on CBS. It will also run later tomorrow evening during Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest on ABC and during various college football games throughout the week. It will then air nationally on network and cable channels and on local stations across the country.
In conjunction with tomorrow's release of the new commercial, Aflac will initiate a fully integrated campaign to highlight how Aflac cares about families and pays claims fast. The campaign will include social activations on Facebook, Instagram and Aflac.com including entertaining games designed to drive engagement and education, online videos on YouTube and MSN and digital online banners that reinforce the notion that Aflac is great at paying claims and great at protecting families.
