Aflac Duck Inspires Soccer Team in New Spanish Language Ad
When Injury Strikes Aflac Can Help Keep Your Team in the Game
COLUMBUS, Ga., Jan. 17, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Aflac, the sales leader for worksite/voluntary insurance in the United States and one of FORTUNE's 2013 World's Most Admired Companies, will release Pep-Talk Soccer , the company's latest Spanish language commercial on Sunday, January 19th. The new commercial leverages the hype of the 2014 World Cup to deliver an important message to the Hispanic Market. When an unexpected injury strikes, Aflac can help you stay focused on your goals.
In Pep-Talk Soccer, a player is injured and unable to finish the big game. So, like an Aflac policyholder, the coach calls on the Aflac Duck to step up and lead the team to victory. The Duck helps the injured player and gives a rousing speech that helps keep the team focused on the things that matter most. The commercial humorously delivers on Aflac's value proposition of paying cash benefits to policyholders for covered illnesses or injuries, to get them back in the game rather than worry about their finances.
"Hispanic purchasing power in the U.S. is expected to reach $1.5 trillion as early as 2015, so we continue to expand our presence in the various Hispanic markets across the country," Aflac Executive Vice President, Chief Marketing Officer, Michael Zuna said. "This new commercial will help us engage the Hispanic markets, delivering our promise to be the company that pays cash benefits fast -- often within 4 days -- when you are injured or become sick so that you can focus on the things that matter most to you and your family."
Pep Talk Soccer is the fourth Spanish language commercial that Aflac has produced in the past year. Debuting on Sunday, January 19, it will launch nationally in Spanish language networks in large Hispanic markets including Miami, New York, Los Angeles, Houston, San Francisco and Orlando. It is scheduled to run up to and through the highly anticipated FIFA World Cup, which begins in June, and will be supported by several integration elements including local radio, digital banners, broadband videos, and at Aflac's Spanish language website, aflac.com/espanol.
