AFGE Members to March on Washington
Largest federal employee union joins 'One Nation March' to rally for better America
WASHINGTON, Sept. 28 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Hundreds of American Federation of Government Employees members will descend on Washington this weekend to fight for a better future.
AFGE is one of 300 organizations that are proud to take part in the One Nation March this Saturday, Oct. 2. Participants will march on the National Mall beginning at noon to show our support for one nation coming together to protect our jobs, our education and our economy.
The rally aims at ensuring quality employment and education opportunities for all. People should have the opportunity to pursue the American dream regardless of race, class, age, sexual orientation, economic standing, heritage, gender or any other physical attribute. This march will demonstrate the American people's commitment to pursuing this core ideal and restoring our nation's priorities.
AFGE members from Washington and beyond will be joining together to support this common cause. AFGE has a long history of fighting these battles on behalf of federal employees and is proud to join with our brothers and sisters in pursuing fair treatment for everyone, AFGE National President John Gage said.
This Saturday, AFGE will stand as one nation to rally for the restoration of workers' rights to organize and bargain collectively. The AFGE rally point is the Sylvan Theater, located on the corner of Independence Ave. and 15th Street SW (Smithsonian Metro Station – Blue/Orange line). We will join there at 10:30 a.m. and march in solidarity to the rally.
Join us this Saturday, Oct. 2, to fight to protect our jobs, our education and our economy.
