WASHINGTON, Aug. 9, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, the American Federation of Government Employees announced its endorsement of Sen. Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota in her reelection for the U.S. Senate.
"For more than 10 years, Senator Klobuchar has been a strong ally of ours in Congress. She has always fought for working people and supported public servants, and we're excited to announce our endorsement of her today," said AFGE District 8 National Vice President Gregg James.
"While the administration and its allies in Congress keep attacking federal workers, Senator Klobuchar has stood up against them time and again. From ensuring we keep our government open to fully-funding the VA – she does not back down," said James. Adding, "As a Minnesota resident, I'm honored to cast my vote for Amy this fall, and I look forward to working with her going forward on protecting federal workers' rights, pay, and earned benefits."
More than 32,000 federal workers live in Minnesota supporting the military, caring for veterans, ensuring the safety of the flying public, and getting Social Security recipients their benefits accurately and on time.
