AFGE Endorses Michigan's Elissa Slotkin for Congress

WASHINGTON, July 17, 2018 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The American Federation of Government Employees today announced its endorsement of Elissa Slotkin for the U.S. House of Representatives for Michigan's 8^th Congressional District.

"Elissa Slotkin has dedicated her life to national service and will work hard to protect the public-sector workers who keep our country going every day," AFGE District 7 National Vice President Dorothy James said.

"Elissa Slotkin's prior work as a senior manager in the Department of Defense allows her to know firsthand how arbitrary caps, mandated furloughs, and hiring freezes can make it difficult for federal offices to recruit and retain talent.

"In addition, Elissa opposes the administration's current efforts to weaken collective bargaining rights and prevent federal unions from representing employees at the job site.
