AFA's Next Mitchell Hour Discusses SOFTWAR
ARLINGTON, Va., June 29, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Air Force Association's Mitchell Institute for Airpower Studies welcomes American strategist Chuck de Caro, CEO of Aerobureau Corporation, as the guest speaker for the next Mitchell Hour where he will be discussing information warfare.
This Mitchell event will take place on Thursday, July 12, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., at AFA's national headquarters at 1501 Lee Highway, Arlington, VA, next to the Key Bridge Marriott. The presentation will be in AFA's fourth floor boardroom. His presentation will last an hour with the opportunity to stay afterward another hour for a Q & A.
Mr. de Caro is well known for creating the term SOFTWAR, which is defined as: "The hostile use of global visual media to shape another society's will by changing its view of reality." de Caro presently works as a consultant for governments and organizations and lectures regularly at various institutions, including the National Defense University, the National Defense Intelligence College and the US Air Force Academy, where in January 2011, his books, articles, DoD studies and videos on SOFTWAR were integrated into a new Military Science course on Information Warfare.
His current book-in-progress is entitled Killing Al Qaeda, evolving from a presentation of the same name given at the prestigious DoD-sponsored Command and Control Research Program. His work has brought him to prominence as he used his theories to assist the U.S. government in the on-going conflict with Al Qaeda.
All Mitchell Hours are free to the public. To register for this event, go to http://july12mitchell2012.eventbrite.com. For additional information, contact Rachel Zimmerman at [email protected].
