AFA's Global Warfare Symposium Covers Global Role of U.S. Air Force
ARLINGTON, Va., Oct. 25, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- For nearly a year, anti-government revolts have been spreading across the Middle East and mass protests became prevalent in the Arab Spring. Such occurrences challenge and could potentially reshape current regional politics and societies. How are these transformations affecting U.S. interests and broader strategic trends in the region? Have these popular uprisings weakened U.S. influence and if so, in what ways?
Come hear Dr. Dalia Dassa Kaye, senior political scientist at the RAND Corporation, discuss the situations in the Arab Springs and how it relates to the U.S. at the Air Force Association's (AFA) annual Global Warfare Symposium in Los Angeles, California.
Themed "Rethinking Global Conflicts in the 21st Century," the Global Warfare Symposium will take place Thursday, November 17 to Friday, November 18, 2011, at a new location, the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles. This new location allows the Symposium additional space to include more presentations and several break-out sessions.
Expect to also hear timely presentations on nuclear enterprise; cyberspace; intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance; expeditionary forces; global threats; and space from military leaders, senior government officials and academicians.
Confirmed speakers include General Philip Breedlove, Vice Chief of Staff of the U.S. Air Force; General William Shelton, Commander, Air Force Space Command; retired USAF Lt. General David Deptula, the first Deputy Chief of Staff for Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance; Mark Lewis, former Chief Scientist of the Air Force; and more.
This November symposium, accompanied with the Air Force Ball, is a special part of AFA's heritage and provides an opportunity to share ideas with highly skilled aerospace and Air Force professionals.
