AFA to Honor 50th Anniversary of the Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force Position at 2017 Air, Space & Cyber Conference
ARLINGTON, Va., Sept. 6, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Air Force Association (AFA) announced today that it will be honoring the 50th anniversary of the creation of the office of Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force (CMSAF) at its upcoming Air, Space & Cyber Conference September 18-20, 2017 in National Harbor, Md.
AFA was a key influence in the establishment of the CMSAF position in 1967 by advocating to Congress the need for greater representation for the Air Force's enlisted personnel. 2017 marks the 50th anniversary of the CMSAF position.
Throughout the conference, AFA will highlight this milestone through panels, speakers and various tributes. The current Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force, Kaleth O. Wright, will address the audience during his session, "Taking Care of Airmen from the Ground Up…A Grassroots Effort" on Wednesday, September 20.
AFA will host a tribute session for the CMSAF anniversary with a panel featuring several former CMSAFs to share their wisdom learned over years serving a critical role as Air Force senior leaders.
In celebration of the Air Force's 70th Birthday, the 2017 Air, Space & Cyber Conference is themed "Breaking Barriers: Heritage to Horizons." Defense and industry leaders will participate in over 35 sessions to discuss critical issues facing the Air Force and our nation.
Additional keynote speakers include Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis, Secretary of the Air Force Heather Wilson, and Air Force Chief of Staff General David Goldfein.
Over 7,000 individuals register to attend the Air, Space & Cyber Conference and Technology Exposition every year.
