AFA Announces Major General William A. Chambers as Speaker for October Breakfast Session
ARLINGTON, Va., Oct. 4 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Major General William A. Chambers, Assistant Chief of Staff for Strategic Deterrence and Nuclear Integration, will be the guest speaker for the October session of the AFA Air Force Breakfast Program Series, to be held on Wednesday, October 13, 2010, from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., at the Sheraton Crystal City Hotel.
Gen. Chambers is responsible to the Secretary and Chief of Staff of the Air Force for focus on Nuclear Deterrence Operations. He advocates for and oversees stewardship of Air Force nuclear weapon systems. In addition, he integrates the organizing, training and equipping of the Air Force's nuclear mission, and engages with joint and interagency partners for nuclear enterprise solutions.
Gen. Chambers is a master navigator whose flying experience includes operational tours in the KC-135A and FB-111A, and an instructor tour in the T-43A. He has served as a policy planner on the Joint Staff and as deputy executive assistant to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
Prior to his current position, he was Vice Commander of the U.S. Air Forces in Europe at Ramstein Air Base in Germany.
The Air Force Breakfast Program is a monthly series established in January 2010 and provides a venue for senior Air Force and Department of Defense leaders to communicate directly with the public and the press.
