Aesculap, Inc. and Barrow Neurological Institute Partner to Host Live Neurosurgery Course

CENTER VALLEY, Pa., Dec. 19, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Aesculap, Inc. is pleased to announce its joint partnership with Barrow Neurological Institute to host a live neurosurgery course. Aesculap Academy, the company's continuing education division, will facilitate this first-ever U.S. course, in conjunction with the expertise of Barrow's neurosurgical team at its state-of-the-art facility. 

Mirrored after the Helsinki course, this will showcase approaches and microsurgical techniques in live operations on various lesions (aneurysms, AVMs, cavernous malformation, extrinsic and intrinsic tumors and EC/IC bypass surgery). During the course, there will be four to six surgeries per day. Professors will discuss the cases and present microsurgical videos between and after the operations. The operative schedule runs every day from 8:00 am to approximately 4:00 pm, followed by case discussions and lectures.

The course will be led by Barrow Chairman, Michael T. Lawton, MD, President and CEO, Professor and Chair, Department of Neurological Surgery Chief, Neurovascular Surgery. The following Barrow faculty members will support the four day course offering:
