MOSCOW, June 24, 2015 /PRNewswire/ --
SkyTeam, the global airline alliance of which Aeroflot is pleased to be a member, is celebrating its 15th birthday.
SkyTeam was founded on 22 June 2000 by four major air carriers: Aeromexico, Air France, Delta and Korean Air. Over the past 15 years, it has evolved from industry newcomer to an effective alliance that combines the strengths of 20 airlines from across the globe. SkyTeam plays an instrumental role in global aviation, covering 90% of the most important traffic flows.
Just as it did 15 years ago, SkyTeam remains focused on continuously improving quality of service, promoting innovation and enhancing synergies. Aeroflot, which joined SkyTeam in 2006, shares these passenger-centred missions and values. The combined efforts of Aeroflot and its 19 partner airlines set the benchmark in aviation from convenient connections to premium in-flight service.
Proud of what has been achieved to date, both SkyTeam and Aeroflot are continuing to grow and look with confidence to the future, with all the successes and challenges it has in store. SkyTeam's long experience and the power of unity will encourage the alliance to overcome these challenges and become even stronger, giving passengers innovative solutions to ensure maximum comfort both in the sky and on the ground.
