AEM Advocacy Unites Under I Make America Banner
New Website Reflects Stronger Association Voice in Public Policy
WASHINGTON, Oct. 15, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Today, the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) announced all domestic policy advocacy efforts on behalf of the equipment manufacturing industry will now be integrated under the I Make America banner. I Make America began as a national grassroots campaign and now has nearly 30,000 supporters across the country that advocate to dramatically increase jobs for America's equipment manufacturers. As part of the integration, I Make America launched a brand new website that can be viewed at www.imakeamerica.com.
"The I Make America campaign has proven highly effective since its launch in 2010, and the brand has earned recognition among our members and throughout the manufacturing and public affairs communities," said AEM President Dennis Slater. "We are streamlining the ways I Make America and AEM advocate for jobs and bring the industry together for greater influence in order to best tell the story of our industry and manufacturing to Members of Congress."
The new website showcases the important contributions of the equipment manufacturing industry, such as the 15,000 new jobs created for every billion dollars in exports of manufactured goods and the agriculture industry's employment of more than six times as many workers as the U.S. automotive industry. The site also delivers tips and tools for people to get involved in advocating for job creation and improved equipment manufacturing policies.
I Make America is supported by AEM member companies and their employees, likeminded associations, American business owners, elected officials and Americans across the nation. By visiting www.IMakeAmerica.com and signing up in support of the effort, members can help show Congress and the Administration how important passing strong pro-manufacturing policies is to individual communities, and to our country.
