IRVING, Texas and BUENOS AIRES, Argentina, Oct. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Aegis, a global outsourcing services company and part of the Essar Group (a $15 billion Indian conglomerate), today announced it has entered into an agreement with Y&R Inversiones Publicitarias, S.A. and its business partner to fully acquire their jointly held business process outsourcing (BPO) company Actionline in Argentina.
Actionline is one of the largest BPOs in Argentina with about 5,000 associates, spread across seven contact centers in five cities. It is domestic market focused, serving leading telecommunications, banking, insurance and energy clients in the region. Founded in 1994, Actionline has grown at a healthy pace, registering a compounded annual growth rate of 65 percent from 2003-2009.
"We are very happy to have found an able partner in Actionline to expand our footprint in Latin America. Actionline fits beautifully in our vision of tapping the large domestic outsourcing market and it brings with it a very talented workforce, a strong knowledge base and deep customer partnership. Actionline fills a key void in Aegis' geographical and services portfolio and we warmly welcome Actionline's management, employees, clients and other stakeholders into the 40,000 strong Aegis global family," said Aparup Sengupta, Managing Director & Global CEO, Aegis.
"Actionline will mark our beachhead in Latin America, a fast growing market with a strong domestic demand. With 1-3 hour time difference with New York and 2-4 hours between major European cities, Argentina has a very favorable time zone. Its multi-lingual workforce can be effectively tapped for not only USA but also non-English speaking markets in Europe, which is Aegis' next frontier," said Sandip Sen, President Americas and Global Chief Marketing Officer, Aegis.
Actionline Argentina's senior management, led by CEO Fernando Padron, will to continue spearhead the business. Actionline's ongoing operations in Chile and Brazil are not impacted by this transaction.
"We are very happy to join hands with Aegis to take Actionline to the next level of growth. Over the years, Actionline has set several industry benchmarks and grown to be amongst the leading BPOs in Argentina with deep domain knowledge. With Aegis' global reach, Actionline can look forward to scaling even greater heights," said Fernando Padron, CEO, Actionline Argentina.
Actionline marks the 16th acquisition for Aegis during the last five years. Actionline Argentina combines an offering of traditional contact center services and enhances with the capabilities of data base management for onshore clients.
