Advisory: Oct. 17 Sacramento Ceremony Honors Fallen CA Firefighters

SACRAMENTO, Calif., Oct. 15, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- In the shadow of a deadly and destructive wildfire season in California, uniformed firefighters, family members and grateful citizens will come together in Sacramento later this month to pay tribute to those who have paid the ultimate price.

The California Firefighters Memorial Ceremony will honor the memory of 16 California firefighters, adding their names to nearly 1,300 currently inscribed on the California Firefighters Memorial. The October 17^th ceremony in Sacramento's Capitol Park features a solemn uniformed firefighter procession, flag presentations to families of the honorees and the traditional "Last Alarm" bell ringing ceremony. The public is invited to attend.

The California Firefighters Memorial and ceremony are funded through the non-profit California Fire Foundation.
