TOPEKA, Kan., Nov. 14, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Advisors Excel announced today that Zachary Anshutz, current assistant commissioner of insurance for Kansas, will join the company in the coming months as director of regulatory affairs and chief compliance officer. With this hire, the company furthers its commitment to setting an industry standard for compliance.
"Consumer protection is something we take very seriously at Advisors Excel, in fact it's at the top of our list when it comes to working with our producers to build their practices," said Advisors Excel Co-Founder Cody Foster. "Zac's regulatory experience and his knowledge of the insurance industry, IMOs and marketing is a perfect fit for our efforts in this area."
Beyond simply ensuring the insurance agents and advisors who strategically partner with Advisors Excel are aware of and adhering to compliance best practices, Foster said Advisors Excel is committed to working with regulators to ensure "bad actors" in the insurance industry are identified and removed so that the industry as a whole can be associated with the highest standards of integrity. He sees Anshutz's addition to the Advisors Excel staff as furthering that effort.
Anshutz plans to assist current Commissioner of Insurance Sandy Praeger with the transition to new leadership for the department under newly elected Commissioner Ken Selzer prior to joining Advisors Excel. He is expected to join the company in late December or early January.
"Advisors Excel's story as a small start-up that has grown to a successful industry leader in less than 10 years is an excellent narrative, and one that I look forward to contributing to in the future," Anshutz said. "I've been impressed with Advisors Excel's commitment to implementing the highest standards in regulatory compliance and client satisfaction. I'm eager to join the team and begin working in conjunction with regulators and the industry to further these goals."
Anshutz has served as assistant commissioner of insurance since December 2012. Prior to that, he served two years as general counsel for the Kansas Insurance Department and another two years as a staff attorney for the department. He earned his law degree from Washburn University School of Law and has a Bachelor of Science degree in political science from Emporia State University.
