Advanced Voice Recognition Systems, Inc. Provides Corporate Update, Including Recent Court Decision in AllVoice V. Microsoft

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., Jan. 10, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Advanced Voice Recognition Systems, Inc. ("AVRS") (OTCBB: AVOI) is pleased to provide a corporate update, including the recent decision in the AllVoice v. Microsoft litigation.

Interference Proceeding with AllVoice

AVRS specializes in interface and application solutions for speech recognition technology.  Our primary assets are our patents.  We are involved in an Interference proceeding with AllVoice Developments US, LLC related to AllVoice Patent 5,799,273 (the "273 Patent").  An Interference is a proceeding conducted by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office ("USPTO") when two or more parties claim patent rights to the same technology.  The proceeding is conducted before the Board of Patent Appeals and Interferences ("BPAI").   We are the Senior Party and AllVoice is the Junior Party.  The Interference was declared on March 9, 2010, and we expect a decision soon from the BPAI.

AllVoice Litigation with Microsoft

AllVoice sued Microsoft for patent infringement in federal court in the state of Washington (Case No. C10-2102 RAJ).  Microsoft asked the Court to construe the disputed claim terms of the AllVoice 273 Patent, and a decision was made on December 21, 2011.  The written opinion decides Microsoft's motion for a partial summary judgment of the invalidity of many of the claims involved in our Interference proceeding with AllVoice that is currently before the BPAI.  A full copy of the opinion that grants in part, and denies in part, the motion for summary judgment, can be found at www.pacer.gov.  Because of the relevance of this opinion to the Interference proceeding, we submitted a copy of the December 21, 2011 District Court opinion to the BPAI.

Patented Technology Update

On December 27, 2011, we filed an Amendment in Continuation patent application (13/112,137) filed on May 20, 2011 in the United States Patent and Trademark Office ("USPTO"). The amendment and other filings related to this patent application can be found at www.uspto.gov.

The previously reported Continuation In Part patent application (13/115,105) filed on May 24, 2011 in the USPTO has been dispatched from pre-exam but has not yet been assigned to an examiner.
