Advanced Pavement Group Teams Up with America's Grow-a-Row to Assist in Their Mission to Impact Local Communities by Making Fresh Produce Accessible
PITTSTOWN, N.J., April 11, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Advanced Pavement Group is beginning construction on site at America's Grow-a-Row. The project aims to provide more access and better drainage systems at the location. Construction will improve access to vital parts of the farm, especially loading areas which are crucial in moving goods from the property. The project is scheduled to take a little over a week to complete.
America's Grow-a-Row is a successful volunteer effort involving planting, picking, and delivering fresh produce to local communities where access to healthy and affordable food is limited. The initiative started by Chip Paillex and his daughter Kyra in 2002, has since become an organization that has donated over 9.2 million pounds of fresh produce to communities within the region.
When asked about the project, Chip Paillex said, "as a nonprofit organization and major farming operation, we need to be good stewards of the precious soil and land resources entrusted to us. The drainage project that Advanced Pavement Group is spearheading and sponsoring will help our farmland become more sustainable by minimizing the current erosion issues. It's this type of contribution that confirms Advanced Pavement Group's commitment to their Corporate Social Responsibility program and the community."
According to Advanced Pavement Group's Chief Executive Officer, Joseph J. Tinney, Jr., the company is defining this relationship as the cornerstone of its Social Responsibility platform. "We need to give back to the communities where we live and work. Providing fresh produce to those communities through volunteering our time and talents was an easy decision to make. This is the first project in what we hope is a long-standing partnership with America's Grow-a-Row," said Joseph J. Tinney, Jr.
According to the company's website, their Social Responsibility is "to connect and contribute in our communities where we live and work by leveraging our time and talents that will exemplify the Advanced principles of our Academy Class Organization; and lead, or participate in, initiatives that stand to impact a greater good."
