ADT Has the 'Help Wanted' Sign Out
World's Largest Security Company Expands its Presence in Dallas - Ft. Worth
DALLAS, Oct. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Mergers are often bad news for employees of the acquired company as firms seek cost-saving synergies with large scale layoffs. But that's not how ADT Security Services approached the acquisition of its largest competitor. In May, ADT acquired Irving-based Brink's Home Security Holdings, Inc., which had recently changed its name to Broadview Security in a $2 billion transaction. This added an additional 1.3 million Broadview customers to ADT's North American residential and small business operations which now serve more than six million customers under the ADT brand name.
The combined companies now have almost 1,500 employees at 10 locations in Irving, Carrollton, Dallas and Fort Worth. This includes almost 300,000 square feet of office space and a state-of-the-art monitoring center in Irving where hundreds of people work 24/7 facilitating rescue calls from throughout the nation.
Stacey Rapier, ADT vice president, is a former senior-level Broadview executive who is now in charge of human resources at ADT. She will continue to be based in Irving along with several other former Broadview senior executives. "Fewer than 100 positions were eliminated with 3,000 Broadview employees becoming part of the ADT team," said Rapier. "Former Broadview employees can now expand their career opportunities by competing for top positions at ADT."
The help wanted sign is now out as ADT introduces its innovative state-of-the-art ADT Pulse, an interactive solution which integrates home controls and security with consumers' personal lifestyles.
"The security business is evolving," says Don Boerema, Chief Marketing Officer for ADT North America. "With new innovations like ADT Pulse, customers can now remotely interact with their security systems to not only help protect their homes but to also manage their lives by controlling their lights, adjusting their thermostats and receiving event notifications of things happening in their homes like kids coming home from school."
"Because of the innovative ADT Pulse launch we will be adding sales positions in Texas at ADT," says Rapier. "We expect to increase our presence in the Texas market and to eventually increase the amount of office and warehouse space necessary for our expanded operations."
