ADP Provides Enhanced Self-Directed Brokerage Account (SDBA) Option to Retirement Plan Participants Through New Business Relationship with TD Ameritrade
Plan Participants Will Continue to Receive Best-in-Class Investment Choices
ROSELAND, N.J., Oct. 14, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- ADP Retirement Services is pleased to announce a new business relationship with TD Ameritrade to provide plan sponsors with a self-directed brokerage account (SDBA) option they can offer to their plan participants. This option will be made available starting immediately, the company announced today.
Self-directed brokerage accounts give participants access to a broad range of investment vehicles and enable them to have greater control over their retirement and personal assets. For plan sponsors, SDBAs can enhance benefits packages which could help employers boost employee satisfaction and increase retention rates.
"We're very pleased to announce a business relationship with a strong brand like TD Ameritrade," said Chris Augelli, vice president of product marketing and business development for ADP Retirement Services. "The SDBAs offered by TD Ameritrade will provide our plan sponsors with additional options for plan participants who are looking to complement their core investment strategy with self-directed investment options."
Through TD Ameritrade, plan participants will have access to a variety of investments and can turn to an independent Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) for retirement account advice and insights on management. They can also leverage Research & Ideas, TD Ameritrade's online resource which offers third-party market analysis. Participants can access their accounts online, making it even easier to track investments.
"An added benefit of SDBAs is that plan participants can access their brokerage window while still receiving the tax benefits of investing within an employer-sponsored plan," said Augelli.
