ADP® Co-Sponsors National Small Business Week In St. Louis, Leads Free Informational Panel On Affordable Care Act
50th Anniversary of National Small Business Week Features One-Day Event with Free Workshops and Sessions to Help St. Louis-Based Small Businesses Prosper
ROSELAND, N.J., June 19, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- ADP® will co-sponsor the U.S. Small Business Administration's one-day National Small Business Week (NSBW) event in St. Louis today. The event, which is held at the Harris-Stowe State University, commemorates the 50th anniversary of National Small Business Week by honoring the outstanding contributions of local entrepreneurs, small business owners and other industry leaders.
As part of the event, ADP will participate in a free panel discussion to help small business owners better understand and prepare for upcoming Affordable Care Act mandates. The session will be moderated by two representatives of the U.S. Small Business Administration, and panelists include representatives from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and other St. Louis small business experts. Robyn Crosson, ADP Senior Counsel, will be among the panelists.
"It can be a struggle for a small business owner to manage tax and HR compliance requirements because the rules are complex and often change," said Anish Rajparia, President of ADP's Small Business Services, which serves more than 425,000 small business clients."ADP is committed to helping clients manage risk through a variety of compliance tools and resources so they can focus on growing their business. That's why it is a privilege to support National Small Business Week here in St. Louis and across the country," Rajparia added.
The SBA established National Small Business Week in 1963, and this year's celebration will mark the first time that it will have featured events in five cities, including Seattle (June 17), Dallas (June 18), St. Louis (June 19), Pittsburgh (June 20) and Washington, D.C. (June 21). ADP subject matter experts will have been on hand at each event to help small business owners understand the implications of the Affordable Care Act as part of panel discussions in Dallas and St. Louis. The week will conclude in Washington, D.C., where ADP will lead a special session on preparing for the Affordable Care Act and understanding its implications for small businesses.
