Adnani Named Vice President of The NHP Foundation
NEW YORK, July 25, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The NHP Foundation is pleased to announce Mecky Adnani is the newly appointed Vice President of Acquisitions.
The NHP Foundation (NHPF) is excited to bring on board its newest vice president of acquisitions, Mecky Adnani. Her background is perfectly matched to NHPF's mission of making investments that preserve and create affordable housing for low- to moderate-income families and seniors. Since her arrival, she has immediately begun to collaborate on ways to make The Foundation's mission grow and making Where You Live Matter.
Ms. Adnani is a seasoned professional in the field of affordable housing preservation, acquisition, and rehabilitation. Prior to joining NHPF, she directed the acquisition and preservation activities for The Community Builders, Inc., of one of nation's largest nonprofit development corporations. For more than a decade, she oversaw the firm's activities across its Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, and Midwest regions. With this managerial experience in acquisitions, Ms. Adnani gained invaluable experience in the workings of federal housing programs and multidisciplinary skills in real estate finance, management, planning and design.
"Having Mecky on our staff is a perfect fit," said NHPF Chief Executive Officer Richard F. Burns. "NHPF is in a season of growth. We have been looking to add to our staff someone with her skillset and experience, so that our portfolio would, in turn, expand—prudently and carefully, as opportunities arise."
Ms. Adnani is skilled in all phases of the acquisition of affordable housing properties: sourcing, analysis, negotiation, and closing. She is proficient at initiating and maintaining relationships with owners of affordable housing, lenders, equity providers, and governmental entities that finance and/or facilitate the development and preservation of affordable housing.
"Mecky's networking skills will prove vital to NHPF's efforts to preserve and create affordable housing," said NHPF's Board of Trustees Chairman Ralph F. Boyd. "We are confident that, with the success she has seen in preserving America's housing, she will be a valuable asset to NHPF for many years to come."
Headquartered in New York City with offices in Washington, DC, NHPF was launched on January 30, 1989. NHPF is a publicly supported 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation founded to preserve and create affordable multifamily rental housing for low- and moderate-income families and seniors. In addition to providing safe, clean and affordable housing to its residents, NHPF has a robust resident services program known as Operation Pathways. Through partnerships with major financial institutions, the public sector, faith-based initiatives, and other nonprofit organizations, NHPF owns 27 residential properties with more than 5,300 housing units in 12 states and the District of Columbia.
