Admiral Mullen, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, to Address the Executives' Club of Chicago
CHICAGO, Aug. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Admiral Mike Mullen, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, will deliver a candid address about national security, the nation's troops, veterans and military families and how American communities can best support them at an Executives' Club of Chicago breakfast on Wednesday, August 25, 2010.
The highest-ranking officer in the U.S. Armed Forces, Admiral Mullen took office as Chairman in October 2007 and serves as the President's principal military advisor. Admiral Mullen has focused his efforts on three main priorities: 1) defending vital national interests in the Middle East; 2) resetting, revitalizing and reconstituting the Armed Forces; and 3) properly balancing global risk. He has placed emphasized on the expansion of counter-insurgency warfare training and resources and advocated early on for a greater focus on operations in Afghanistan. He now considers Afghanistan the U.S. military's "main effort."
The Executives' Club special breakfast featuring Admiral Mullen will be held at The Fairmont Chicago, International Ballroom, second floor.
