ADL Data Systems Partners With COMS Interactive, LLC
Integrates Disease Management Solution Daylight IQ™ to Enhance Offerings
HAWTHORNE, N.Y., Feb. 6, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- ADL Data Systems, Inc. (ADL) is partnering with COMS Interactive (commonly known as COMS or Clinical Outcomes Management Systems) to offer additional clinical information and solutions to existing and new customers. This unique partnership includes ADL bundling the COMS Daylight IQ™ product suite, and offers a powerful platform for providing enhanced electronic medical record (EMR) packages.
Recognized as a pioneer in the development and implementation of EMR systems, ADL's dynamic product applications, including the Optimum Series, encompass a full range of administrative, financial, and clinical modules, and are used in nursing homes, CCRCs, rehabilitation facilities and outpatient clinics. These modules empower users including nurses, therapists, administrators, and Human Resource personnel to meet the changing needs of their customers.
"We are excited to be partnering with COMS, a recognized innovator in disease management solutions," noted David Pollack, President, ADL Data Systems, Inc. "By bundling our two companies' product sets, we are able to offer to our customers highly effective tools to further enhance the quality of care provided to residents."
The agreement facilitates a phased Daylight IQ™ and Optimum interface and packaged solution set. The Daylight IQ™ Software as a Service (SaaS) product features a series of integrated modules, and a disease-based library of clinical protocols. The product suite significantly empowers the entire clinical team at the point of care, and improves communication between all parties. A key component of the Daylight IQ™ product suite is a reduction in unnecessary hospital readmissions by as much as 50%, a related decrease in premature mortality rates, and an increase in successful discharges.
"ADL was the first organization to build a comprehensive EMR product set," noted Edward J. Tromczynski, Chief Executive Officer, COMS Interactive. "The company's depth of experience and significantly high level of customer satisfaction reflects a similar focus to that of COMS, and we anticipate that this partnership will offer a valuable combination of products to our joint customer base."
Industry data shows that the average Nursing Home, Home Care or Assisted Living resident has a complicated disease profile, with one primary disease and up to eight secondary diseases or afflictions. Over 70% of re-hospitalizations are due to the progression of secondary or new diseases. By providing early detection of changes in condition, a combination of the ADL platform and the Daylight IQ™ product suite will identify potential problems and offer caregivers the opportunity to respond, preventing further progression of the illness or affliction.
