Adecco Group Selects its 2018 CEO For One Month in the US
A once in a lifetime opportunity for one outstanding individual to work alongside Fortune Global 500 executives, earn a $10,000 pay check and develop skills for the future of work
JACKSONVILLE, Fla., June 28, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- After a nation-wide search for its 2018 CEO for One Month, Adecco Group announced 18-year-old Yolian Ogbu earned the coveted internship experience. With more than 28,000 applicants vying for the position, Adecco Group chose eight finalists to move on to shadow the company's top executives and participate in leadership challenges that determined who would become this year's CEO for One Month.
Ogbu is a student at the University of North Texas, majoring in political science and communications, with a focus in legal studies. With a longstanding passion for youth empowerment, international topics and diplomacy, Ogbu recently founded GrassrootsYouth, a global network of students dedicated to driving change in their communities. She also serves as a UNICEF Next Gen ambassador and a Bridge the Divide global ambassador. In her free time, she enjoys writing poetry and journaling.
"To work side by side with Adecco Group's executives and gain C-suite level access into the inner workings of a Fortune Global 500 company is truly surreal, and I know that this program will be life-changing," said Ogbu.
Ogbu is spending the month of June shadowing Adecco Group North America CEOs John Marshall and Federico Vione, as well as other executives across the company's US footprint. During this time, she is attending client meetings, participating in business assignments, gaining professional skills and learning firsthand how a Fortune Global 500 company is run.
"As an HR solutions company, we know that training and upskilling initiatives are paramount," said Marshall. "This program allows us to help people realize their full potential and it's remarkable to see our 'CEO's' journey from start to finish every year."
"When you bring in a talented individual who has not yet experienced your line of work, you hear a fresh perspective on your business," added Vione. "We may be teaching our 'CEO' what it takes to lead an organization, but she can teach us new ways to look at our world of work."
This year, Adecco Group launched the CEO for Month program in more than 40 countries and territories around the world. Following the US internship program, Yolian will have the chance to be selected for the Global program, with the opportunity to shadow Adecco Group Global CEO Alain Dehaze, based in Zurich, Switzerland.
