Addus HomeCare Announces Continuation Of Its Services In California, New York And Illinois
Shelter In Place Will Not Require Suspension Of These Important Services
FRISCO, Texas, March 23, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- Addus HomeCare Corporation (Nasdaq: ADUS), a provider of home care services, today announced that it will continue providing its services in California, New York and Illinois even after the recently announced "shelter in place" orders from those states. The Company also anticipates that it will be exempted from the scope of similar restrictions other states may implement as the U.S. Department of Homeland Security has advised that it views home care and hospice staff as members of the country's Essential Critical Infrastructure Workforce.
Dirk Allison, President and Chief Executive Officer of Addus HomeCare, stated, "Addus provides personal care services that are crucial in allowing individuals to remain in their homes. Governmental authorities have recognized that these services should continue because they deem them essential in nature. We will keep working, prioritizing the safety and health of our customers and employees. We recognize and enormously appreciate the contributions of our caregivers and those of home care workers across our industry. Their service during this important time will enable many elderly and vulnerable individuals to avoid the risks found in settings outside of their homes."
