Additive Manufacturing for Aerospace Advanced by Altair, RUAG and Morf3D
Non-Exclusive MOU Forms Rich Alliance of Diverse Capabilities for AM Initiative
TROY, Mich., April 21, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Altair, RUAG and Morf3D have recently entered a non-exclusive partnership for cooperation in advancing additive manufacturing (AM) for Aerospace applications. The partnership will address the full additive manufacturing process including design, analysis, build, test and certification. The partnership aims to offer a start-to-finish service primarily to the Aerospace industry for AM including space, propulsion, aircraft interior, and airframe applications. Other application areas will be pursued as opportunities present themselves.
While working together jointly on publications, training, research, and technical papers, etc., to facilitate this cooperative effort, Altair will lead the provision of solidThinking Inspire™ software for design and analysis, Morf3d will lead program management, part production, R&D and associated quality control and RUAG will take the lead on design, analysis, documentation, testing and certification. The team will use the AM facility Morf3D's Innovation Center which includes various DMLS systems and the test facilities at Ruag.
