PRICE, Utah, Aug. 21, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- U-Haul® is introducing a state-of-the-art moving and self-storage facility at 610 W. Price River Drive, site of a former Kmart® store.
U-Haul Moving & Storage of Price is offering truck and trailer sharing, towing equipment, moving supplies and more from a temporary showroom. U-Haul acquired the 96,848-square-foot building on June 27.
"This location is perfect for U-Haul because Price has been underserved when it comes to a modern moving and self-storage facility," said Brad Ling, U-Haul Company of Utah president. "We're pleased to bring our quality products and services to the community."
Contact U-Haul Moving & Storage of Price at (435) 637-6358 or stop by to visit general manager Joshua Patterson and his team. Hours of operation are 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday-Thursday and Saturday; 7 a.m.-8 p.m. Friday; and 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday. Reserve equipment at uhaul.com or contact Reservations at 1-800-GO-UHAUL.
Adaptive reuse of the property will render about 700 indoor self-storage units, giving customers access to climate-controlled rooms with high-tech security features at affordable price points. Propane and professional hitch installation will be available on the 9.8-acre lot in the near future.
Acquisition of the property was driven by U-Haul Corporate Sustainability initiatives: U-Haul supports infill developments to help local communities lower their carbon footprint. The adaptive reuse of existing buildings reduces the amount of energy and resources required for new-building materials and helps cities reduce their unwanted inventory of unused buildings.
"Reusing vacated big-box stores is an important initiative that our customers appreciate. Many times these buildings remain dark for years and become blight on the community," Ling added. "Most of our stores are a product of adaptive reuse. We're excited to use our ecofriendly design in Price."
Ling expects to maintain a staff of 15 of more Team Members once the store is fully operational. U-Haul will look to hire locally to promote job growth within the Price community.
