Adaptiiv Medical Technologies Announces Release of Adaptiiv AccuCALC© to Help Cancer Centers Confirm Billing and Predict Revenue for Adaptiiv's 3D Printed Medical Devices
AccuCALC© developed by Churchill Consulting, a division of Crux Quality Solutions
HALIFAX, Oct. 17, 2018 /PRNewswire/ - Adaptiiv Medical Technologies Inc. (Adaptiiv), an innovative medical technology company, announced today the release of a proprietary AccuCALC© that allows cancer centers to determine the business case for offering 3D Bolus, Adaptiiv's advanced software solution. The AccuCALC© was developed by Churchill Consulting, a division of Crux Quality Solutions (www.cruxqs.com) which provides consulting and integrated system solutions to radiation therapy departments, freestanding facilities and professional practices.
"We have seen significant demand from our clients for information pertaining to 3D Bolus, Adaptiiv's solution that enables the creation of customized 3D personal medical devices using 3D printing, used primarily in the treatment of cancer," said Jordan Johnson, Director of Compliance at Churchill Consulting. "Yet as is common with many leading-edge technologies, our clients are unsure of whether they can bill for a new technology or its potential return on investment. AccuCALC© addresses that problem."
Devices such bolus and brachy devices created using Adaptiiv's software conforms to the patient anatomy to improve dose and the patient experience. Patients are more comfortable through the treatment period, while set-up and production times are reduced. "As result of these factors we at Churchill Consulting felt obligated to help our clients understand how to take advantage of 3D Bolus," said Johnson.
How the AccuCALC© works
Cancer centers and radiation therapy departments can navigate to this web-based tool and answer a few simple questions such as city, state, and the estimated number of devices they expect to use. The calculator then provides users with the expected reimbursement per each bolus printed using 3D Bolus.
"Reimbursement amounts vary greatly from state to state, and cancer centers often need to know when to bill for it during a typical workflow" notes Adaptiiv CEO Peter Hickey. "Having the Churchill Consulting team design and build a custom tool specifically to help make the business case for 3D Bolus is a nod both to the growing demand for the solution and our continued strides in the battle against cancer."
The AccuCALC© has also been made available to Adaptiiv's staff and the sales team at CIVCO Radiotherapy, the leading global provider of high quality, innovative, patient-centric radiotherapy solutions. CIVCO is the recognized distributor of Adaptiiv software in the U.S.
