HOUSTON, Nov. 30, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Jones Walker announced today that Adan D. Briones joined the firm as an associate in the firm's Houston, Texas office.

Mr. Briones' practice focuses primarily on affirmative and defensive civil litigation, particularly in the areas of commercial litigation in the energy area. Prior to joining Jones Walker, Mr. Briones served as an Assistant United States Attorney for the United States Attorney's Office, Southern District of Texas. Previous to that, he was an associate with Vinson & Elkins in Houston, and he served as a summer clerk to United States District Judge Philip Martinez in the Western District of Texas.

A 2007 graduate of the University of Texas School of Law, Mr. Briones is admitted to practice in Texas. He received his bachelor of art degree from the University of Texas in 2001. Mr. Briones also received a Masters in Public Policy from Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government in 2004.
